  • Does the hotel offer WiFi?
    Yes, we offer complimentary high-speed WiFi access to all guests throughout the property, including in rooms and common areas. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, you can stay connected with ease.
  • Do you offer room service?
    Yes, we offer room service from the network of restaurants in the Palms Hospitality Group.
  • Does the hotel serve breakfast?
    Your stay at Palms Hotel comes with a complimentary hot breakfast every day at the Landing Bistro, our sister restaurant located right across from the main hotel lobby.
  • Does the hotel offer special deals or discounts at this time?
    We have special deals and discounts available at various times throughout the year. These offers will be communicated through a pop-up message on our website or via email for those who have signed up for alerts. If you want to receive email notifications, please sign up for them on our website. Currently, we are running a promotion where you can book any room or suite for two nights and get the third night for free. The third night must be of equal or lesser value than the first two. This offer is only valid for the months of May and June and excludes Memorial Day weekend.
  • Is the hotel pet-friendly?
    Yes, Palms Bay and Palms Bay East offer pet-friendly rooms so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay with your furry friends. Please be aware that there is a small cleaning fee associated with bringing your pet.
  • Do you have a concierge?
    Yes, our guest relations staff can assist you with services such as restaurant reservations, island tours, water taxis, room service, bikes, events, and special requests.
  • Are medical services available in case of an emergency?
    Yes. Ocean Beach has its own ambulance and fire department which both have an excellent reputation for responding to medical needs.
  • How can I purchase a gift card?
    You can buy gift cards in increments of $500 by clicking on the link below. - Please note that gift certificates require a recipient, who could be either yourself or someone else. - The recipient can use the gift certificate for a room reservation by calling the property. - Gift certificates do not have an expiration date.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    Cancellations are accepted within 72 hours of your arrival date. There is no penalty if you cancel by this date and rebook within the current season. If you elect not to rebook within the current season, a credit for a midweek stay in May, June or September will be issued and is valid for one year.
  • Is there a deposit required at check-in?
    The balance of your reservation is due upon check-in.
  • Do you provide anything in the rooms for a special occasion?
    Yes, we have a list of services that can be purchased at the time you make your reservation. This includes charcuterie boards, rose petal service, and champagne. Special requests are also honored – just call the front desk before your stay.
  • Can I reserve bicycles, wagons, chairs, or kayaks prior to my stay?
    We provide all of these items complimentary to our guests, however they are provided on a first come, first serve basis. We also ask that you return bicycles within 2 hours during the busiest peak times.
  • Can I reserve a BBQ?
    BBQs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, we may consider reserving a BBQ depending on special requests and hotel occupancy.
  • Is there a minimum stay requirement?
    There is a 2-night minimum on reservations beginning on a Friday or Saturday in July and August.
  • Which one of your six properties do you recommend as the best option for stay?
    Each property offers a unique experience to guests based on preference for room size and location. The Bungalows, Main Hotel, and Penthouse are located in a quieter part of town and are closest to the complimentary breakfast location and the Courtyard. Palms Bay and Palms Bay East are located in a more lively part of town but are closer to the private bay beach and Rumbrellas, our full service beach bar. All locations offer a variety of room sizes, from standard rooms to suites.
  • Do you have a pool?
    No. Pools are not permitted in the downtown area of Ocean Beach. However, guests have exclusive access to our private bay beach and the ocean is a short block and a half away.
  • Do you have a spa?
    We are developing massage and spa services which will be available to guests in the 2024 season. These services can be booked at the front desk.
  • Do I have to stay at the Palms Bay to use the private bay beach?
    No, the private bay beach and Rumbrellas, our private bay beach bar, are available to all registered guests of the hotel regardless of which property they are staying at.
  • Can I dock my boat at the hotel?
    The Turtle Bay Suite at Palms Bay East has a slip that can be used to dock your boat for a fee. No other rooms have available docking space.
  • Is the Palms Hotel accessible by car?
    No, Ocean Beach is automobile-free. Fire Island is only accessible by boat or ferry.
  • Where can I find the Fire Island ferry schedule?
    Ferry service to and from Ocean Beach is available via Fire Island Ferries departing from Bay Shore. Click here for schedules. In-season Water Taxi service is also available to and from Ocean Beach.
  • Can someone meet me at the ferry terminal to help with luggage?
    Yes, our staff will be happy to meet you at the ferry terminal to assist with luggage. Please call the hotel to request this complimentary service the day before you arrive.
  • How far is the Main hotel from the ferry terminal?
    The Main Hotel is a short walk (approximately 2 minutes) from the ferry terminal.
  • Where do I check in?
    All guests check in at the Main Hotel at 168 Cottage Walk, regardless of the actual property you have reserved. All properties are a short walk from the Main Hotels. Wagons are provided upon request.
  • Is transportation available to other towns on Fire Island?
    Yes, the Fire Island Water taxi service runs regularly scheduled water taxis to points east and west of Ocean Beach during peak season. Alternatively, you can hire your own private water taxi. Please check with our concierge for additional information.
  • What time is check-in?
    Check-in is at 4:30 PM
  • What time is check-out?
    Check out is at 11:00 AM
  • Can we get late check out or an early check in?
    We cannot guarantee late check out or early check in as the occupancy of the hotel is unknown at the time you make your reservation. Occupancy rates tend to be high during peak season. Regarding early check in, we will do everything we can to accommodate an early check in request. If this request cannot be satisfied, you are free to use all hotel amenities from the time you arrive on the island and check in. Regarding late check out, this can be satisfied for a fee but is subject to availability based on occupancy. If this request cannot be satisfied, you are still free to use all hotel amenities until you leave the island.
  • Are roll-away beds or cots available?
    Yes. Cots and Pack and Plays are available as long as room size permits without violating fire codes. Due to limited supply, please request this upon your booking.
  • Is there a hair dryer in the room?
    Each room is equipped with a hair dryer, shampoo, and conditioner.
  • Do all rooms have private bathrooms?
    Yes, all of our rooms have private bathrooms.
  • Is there a safe in the room?
    Most rooms are equipped with safes except for a few of our smaller rooms. Please call the Front Desk to inquire about whether the room you have booked is equipped with a safe.
